Inaugural Law Enforcement Torch Run & Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Texas

Odessa, Texas/March 4, 2026-The Odessa Police Department along with the Midland Police Department, Ector County Sheriff’s Office, the Midland County Sheriff’s Office and the Ector County ISD Police Department participated in the inaugural Polar Plunge benefiting Special Olympics of Texas. The event was hosted by the University of Texas.

Sponsors, individuals and the UTPB Football team helped raise $25 thousand dollars which provides year-round sports training and competition, along with health and inclusion programs for individuals with intellectual disabilities in our community.

The annual Polar Plunge supports more than 58,000 athletes across Texas.
