DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS(120220)-MIDLAND POLICE INVESTIGATE CRASH

Midland, Texas/December 2, 2020-On Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at approximately 3:00 p.m. Midland Police Officers were taking a report for an assault. While taking the report, Midland Police Department Officers encountered the suspect and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit started at C.J. Kelly Park and ended at Loop 250 and Belaire. The suspect was driving a Dodge SUV, and headed southbound on the northbound service road of Loop 250. The suspect and suspect vehicle collided head on with a Toyota SUV going northbound. The driver of the Toyota SUV was transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was transported for minor injuries and will be sent to the Midland County Jail upon release from the hospital. The suspect was identified as 45-year-old Ronald Chambers. Chambers was charged with class A assault, unlawful restraint, terroristic threat, interference with 9-1-1 call and aggravated assault causing bodily injury. The investigation is ongoing.
