Midland, Texas/December 16, 2020-On Monday, December 14th at approximately 10:23 p.m., Officers with the Midland Police Department responded to the DK Convenience store located in the 700 block of W. Scharbauer Dr. in reference to a shots fired call. Shortly after, MPD Officers were dispatched to Midland Memorial Hospital in reference to a male who sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. The male, identified as 20-year-old, Santonio Griffin was pronounced deceased at the hospital. MPD Crimes Against Persons Detectives and the MPD Crime Scene Unit were notified and responded to the scene. Next of kin has been notified.
