ODESSA, TEXAS/JANUARY 1, 2021 – Medical Center Hospital is celebrating its first delivery of 2021. Baby Stella Ann McGahan was born at 12:01 a.m. and weighed in at 8 pounds, 1 ounce. Her proud parents are Janel Ann McGahan and John Henry McGahan. This is their first child. The hospital gifted the family a car seat/stroller combo, as well as some diapers and wipes among other gifts. The family also will receive a POWER Bag, promoting early literacy among children in the Permian Basin. The POWER Bag initiative is the result of a partnership between the Permian Basin Education Foundation, healthcare providers in Midland/Odessa and several other community organizations and businesses. The POWER Bag includes a milestone moments book, CDC age-level baby book, a Scholastic book, baby toy key and website information for additional resources.
