Odessa, Texas/January 9, 2021-On Friday, January 8, 2021 at approximately 12:22 pm, an OPD officer attempted to make a traffic stop in the area of 9th Street and Lee Avenue. The driver of the vehicle evaded but was later located in a nearby alley. The suspect then evaded the officer on foot and during the pursuit, shots were fired. The suspect then barricaded herself inside of a residence located in the 1500 block of North Alleghaney Avenue.

The suspect eventually surrendered without incident and was placed into custody. The suspect has been identified as Severa Leann Aguilar, 39 years-of-age date of birth 07/04/1981. Aguilar has been arrested for a parole violation warrant. More charges are anticipated and the investigation continues.

There were no reports of any injuries and this incident is currently being investigated by the Texas Rangers. The investigation is ongoing.
