MIDLAND, TEXAS/JANUARY 28, 2021-JONES ELEMENTARY IN MIDLAND RECEIVED 110 CHROMEBOOKS THIS WEEK TO HELP STUDENTS ENHANCE THEIR LEARNING. THE MISD SCHOOL DISTRICT AQUIRED MORE THAN 12 THOUSAND LEARNING DEVICES THAT WILL BE DISTRIBUTED TO OTHER CAMPUSES WITHIN THE DISTRICT. STUDENTS IN GRADES 2ND THROUGH 12TH WILL GET A LITTLE OVER 8 THOUSAND CHROM BOOKS AND STUDENTS IN PRE-K THROUGH FIRST GRADE WILL HAVE AVAILABLE 4,356 IPADS.

MIDLAND ISD PURCHASED NEAR-POD, AND INTERACTIVE PLATFORM THAT WORKS WITH THE CHROMEBOOKS AND IPAD. THE INTERACTIVE PLATFORM CONTAINS A LIBRARY OF PREMADE LESSONS. THE TEACHER CAN CUSTOMIZE LESSONS TO MEET THE NEEDS OF STUDENTS.

THE CHROMEBOOKS WERE MADE AVAIBABLE TO MISD STUDENTS THROUGH FUNDING FROM THE TEXAS EDUCATION AGENCY AND THE CITY OF MIDLAND. THE NEED FOR TEXT BOOKS IS BECOMING OBSOLETE, BECAUSE OF THE ADVANCEMENT OF THIS TECHNOLOGY.
