ODESSA, TEXAS/AUGUST 5, 2021-ECTOR COUNTY ISD AND THE YMCA HELD A RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY OF THE NEW EARLY LEARNING CENTER FOR 3-YEAR-OLD PRE-K STUDENTS. THIS PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN ECISD AND THE YMCA WAS IN THE WORKS FOR APPROXIMATELY TWO YEARS.

THE GOAL OF THE ECISD-YMCA EARLY LEARNING CENTER IS TO PREPARE 3-YEAR-OLD CHILDREN FOR KINDERGARTEN.

THE PRE-K PROGRAM WILL ALLOW 3-YEAR-OLDS TO SPEND HALF A DAY IN THE CLASSROOM LEARNING DIFFERENT ACTIVITES SUCH AS LETTER RECONGITION.

A PARENT WAS TRYING TO REGISTER HER 3-YEAR-OLD SON, LEVI IN THE PRE-K PROGRAM AT BURNETT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, THEN WAS TOLD THAT THE PROGRAM WAS NO LONG AVAILABLE.
