On Thursday, October 7th at approximately 4:30pm Odessa Police, Odessa Fire Rescue and the City of Odessa Water Department responded to the Odessa water tower located 93rd street and Rainbow.

City of Odessa Water Department officials isolated the tank and closed the valve so that water was not feeding into the tower from the system.

Several City of Odessa Water Department workers were injured during water leak.

It Is believed that the age and fatigue of the coupling fitting was the cause of the rupture and water leak.
