Odessa Downtown Lions Club Parade & City of Odessa’s Firecracker Fandango 2025

Odessa, Texas/July 6, 2025-The Odessa Downtown Lion’s Club kicked off the 4th of July celebration with the annual Independance Day Parade. Residents enjoyed the vintage military vehicles, decorated floats representing American Freedom. The Odessa Police Department, Odessa Fire Rescue and the Ector County Sheriff’s Office showcased armored vehicles and hardware to the delight of mom’s, dad’s and children.

Around 6pm, Friday, July 4th, the City of Odessa hosted the annual Firecracker Fandango. Several thousand people including children came downtown and engage in activities for families; there were concerts featuring local artists and up and coming country recording artists. Visitors enjoyed a wide selection of delicious food items from various food trucks sprinkled throughout the downtown area. The Firecracker Fandango offered a KID’S ZONE where families could take their kids to enjoy games and jumpers.

At the finale of Firecracker Fandango visitors were entertained by a drone show and fireworks.

27th Annual July 4th Fandango 2024 (Firecracker Fandango)

Odessa, Texas/July 7, 2024-The July 4th celebrations kick-off with the Independence Day Parade hosted by the Odessa Downtown Lions Club. Families and Kids lined the streets to see the various floats, vintage military vehicles and cars and motorcycles and other attractions. 

Mayor Javier Joven held a special parade that originated from North Sam Houston and 5th street and traveled to the July 4th Fandango Event downtown Odessa.

Hispanic Heritage of Odessa participated as a vendor offering visitors to the event Aguas Frescas, eats and treats and other goodies.

The July 4th Fandango featured a Car Show, a Kids Zone, Food Trucks with a wide selection of cuisine and music and other entertainment. It was estimated that around 15 thousand people attended the 27th annual July 4th Fandango event.

Odessa, Texas/May 7, 2022-Southside Odessa celebrated its’s annual Cinco De Mayo Parade along with several organizations participated in the parade. Political candidates took the opportunity to campaign during the Cinco De Mayo Parade event.

The parade started at South Grant Avenue and E. Murphy down to Clements to the MCH Clinic across from Ector Middle School. The parade featured a youth dance team, low riders, motorcycle clubs, exotic cars and horses with their riders carring the United States flag and Mexico flag.

Cinco De Mayo commemorates the anniversary of Mexico’s victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla in 1862.
