Odessa, Texas/September 10, 2021- second arrest has been made in connection to an officer involved shooting that occurred in August of 2021. Darien Gonzalo Sanchez, 20 years of age, has been charged with Aggravated Assault Against a Public Servant “1st Degree Felony”. Sanchez was arrested yesterday in Midland by DPS. More charges are anticipated.
On August 30th, 2021, Odessa police responded to the area of 3rd and County Road West around 10:20pm to assist Ector County Sheriff’s Deputies.
During a pursuit, shots were fired at officers resulting in an OPD unit being struck. A 16-year-old male was arrested and charged with aggravated assault against a public servant, Felony 1. No injuries were reported.
The investigation continues.
