Midland, Texas/June 1, 2023-The Midland Fire Department held their annual water rescue and drowning prevention campaign. First responders trained in several different types of rescue techniques.

Downing death is the number one cause of children under 5. It is estimated that 4 to 8 thousand people die from drowning annually in the United States.

The Midland Fire Department reminds families to learn CPR and learn how to swim to help prevent downing accidents.
