Murder and Mayhem in West Texas Book Signing Event at the University of Texas Permian Basin

Odessa, Texas/December 6, 2023-John Fisher, Associate Professor of Criminal Justice at the University of Texas Permian Basin along with his research students collaborated on a writing project that turned into a book called MURDER AND MAYEM IN WEST TEXAS.

The Criminal Justice students reached out to local and area Law Enforcement Agencies and looked at case records and reports and conducted interviews with some of the Police Officers that were involved in investigating these crimes.

Every year the Criminal Justice research class picks a subject to write about in effort to get published.

Shaeloy Castro Puertas researched Monica Carrasco, 16 years of age, who went missing from Balmorhea, Texas in 2003 and is still missing.

Sandra Barrera, a student at the University of Texas Permian Basin bought “Murder and Mayhem in West Texas” to support her author friend and classmate
