Volunteers & Students Help the Black Chamber of Commerce of the Permian Basin Fall Cleanup

Odessa, Texas/October 21, 2025-This is DRB Media Communications Digital News. The Black Chamber of Commerce held their Fall Cleanup this past weekend. Danny Barrera has the story. 

Volunteers and Students from the ECISD Middle Schools and High Schools came out this past Saturday to help the Black Chamber of Commerce of the Permian Basin cleanup areas of southside Odessa.

During the Fall and Spring cleanups, the Black Chamber of Commerce of the Permian Basin invites volunteers and School District students to participate in helping to beautify the City of Odessa.

Black Chamber of Commerce of the Permian Basin -35th Annual Ebony Bar Awards

Odessa, Texas/October 7, 2025-The Black Chamber of Commerce of the Permian Basin Held their 35th Annual Ebony Bar Awards. Danny Barrera has the story. 

The MCM Grande Hotel and Fun dome recently hosted the Black Chamber of Commerce of the Permian Basin and the 35th Annual Ebony Bar Awards. This year, local entrepreneurs were honored for their contributions to the Odessa economy.

Several nonprofit organizations, Medical and scholastic institutions and local businesses participated in the special event. Representatives from the city of Odessa and Ector County came out in support of the recipients receiving the Ebony Bar Awards.

Black Chamber of Commerce -Special Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Klpnotic Barber Company

Odessa, Texas/August 13, 2025-The Black Chamber of Commerce of the Permian Basin welcomed a new business to the community with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for KLPNOTIC Barber Company. 

The shop, located at 6901 Cross B Road, Suite 155, near the Bell-Park Ranch area, celebrated its official opening with local leaders, chamber members, and community supporters in attendance.

The Bell-Park Ranch area is a growing new development in northeast Odessa, expanding toward Midland. Many minority-owned businesses, which would traditionally set up in central Odessa, are now looking to this area for greater business opportunities.

2nd Annual Black Chamber of Commerce of the Permian Basin Bowling Tournament

Odessa, Texas/July 21, 2025-The Black Chamber of Commerce of the Permian Basin held their 2nd Annual Bowling Tournament at Diamond Lanes on East 8th Street in Odessa. Teams competed for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Raffles were held throughout the 3-game tournament.

The fundraiser only provided scholarships to graduates from the Ector County ISD school district. Students who are in their senior year from across the Permian Basin are now encouraged to apply for the Black Chamber of Commerce of the Permian Basin scholarships.

Last year funds from the first annual Black Chamber of Commerce of the Permian Basin Bowling Tournament raised over $5 Thousand Dollars.

Trophies were awarded at the end of the bowling tournament. Walker Photography earned 3rd Place. Williams Paving, 2nd Place and Southside VFW Post 6717 earned 1st Place.

The Black Chamber of Commerce of the Permian Basin Annual Spring Cleanup Event

Odessa, Texas/April 27, 2025-The Black Chamber of Commerce of the Permian Basin along with Keep Odessa Beautiful held their annual Spring community cleanup event. Odessa City Councilman At-Large Craig Stoker along with members of the Black Chamber and residents helped with the cleanup.

Residents in the heart of southside Odessa have a renewed pride in keeping District 1 clean and free from trash. East Murphy starting at south Grant Avenue and traveling east for 2.9 miles to the north service road of I-20 will soon be named M.L.K., Jr Street.

Black Chamber of Commerce Annual Business Mixer Hosted by the Woodson Boys & Girls Club

Odessa, Texas/March 30, 2025-Small Business owners and local nonprofits joined The Black Chambre of Commerce of the Permian Basin and its membership for the annual Business Mixer held at the Woodson Boys Club in the heart of southside Odessa. The goal of the business mixer is to bring together small business owners and entrepreneurs to showcase products and services.

Roy Nelson Insurance, a member of the Black Chamber of Commerce of the Permian Basin provided information to visitors of the importance of having insurance for all situations.
