Green & Pink Ribbon Ceremony for Flash Flood Victims at Memorial Gardens Park

Odessa, Texas/July 13, 2025-Residents of Odessa, Odessa Police Department, Ector County, and Pastors came to Memorial Gardens Park on Friday Evening to join other families in a special remembrance ceremony honoring the victims of the Texas Hill Country Flash Flood, also taking the lives of OPD Officer Bailey Martin, Jayda Floyd an Ector County Juvenile Probation Officer and girlfriend to Officer Martin.

The flash flood impacted various communities in the Texas Hill Country along the Guadalupe River and affected the lives of residents in Odessa, Midland, Andrews and other Permian Basin Families.

Annabelle Coultress was preparing to join friends at Camp Mystic this week. She joined the 70 plus people at Memorial Gardens Park to tie green and pink ribbons around trees located throughout the duck pond.

Odessa Chamber of Commerce Host the 2025 Legislative Wrap-Up Breakfast

Odessa, Texas/July 12, 2025-The 2025 Legislative Wrap-Up provided crucial updates on the recent legislative session and its impact on Odessa, Ector County and the entire State of Texas.

Odessa City Council Special Remembrance of Flash Flood Victims

Odessa, Texas/July 10, 2025-Before the start of the July 8th Odessa City Council meeting a special moment of silence was held in honor of Odessa Police Office Bailey Martin and those who perished in the flash flood in Central Texas.

Odessa City Council members Craig Stoker and Greg Connell along with Ector County Republican Party Chair, Donna Kelm and Former Ector County Judge Debi Hays, volunteers were at Memorial Gardens Park placing green ribbons on trees near the pond in remembrance of Odessa Police Officer Bailey Martin and those that have died and those that are still missing from the flash flood that occurred in the Hill Country particularly around the Guadalupe River in Kerr County over the 4th of July weekend.

A special candlelight vigil is scheduled for Friday, July 11th at around 6pm at Memorial Garden Park located at 42nd Street and JBS Parkway.

Texas Stock Rally Holds Cars & Coffee Event at the Wagner Noel Performing Arts Center Location

June 29, 2025/Midland, Texas-On Saturday morning Texas Stock Rally held CARS & COFFEE at the Wagner-Noel Performing Arts Center parking lot. This family fun event was free and featured a car show, minibikes, vendors and food trucks.

Texas Stock Rally provided music, donuts and coffee to visitors at the event. The schedule of events featured a Minibike Rev competition followed by the minibike races.

Vendors at the Texas Stock Rally showcased a wide selection of merchandise from Caps, T-Shirts and other specialty items. Food vendors feature delicious food items from the traditional Tamales to Hotdogs.

First Annual YMCA Golf Tournament at Ratliff Ranch Golf Links

Odessa, Texas/June 23, 2025-The Odessa Family YMCA held its first Golf Tournament at Ratliff Ranch. Around 88 players participated in the Thursday morning Tourney.

Paul Chavez the golf head coach for the University of Texas Permian Basin and a recipient of the 2025 NJCAA Legacy Awards was a featured golfer at the fundraising event.

Jaden Chavez, a Permian High School graduate is the golf head coach for Garden City Community College in Garden City, Kansas and son of Paul Chavez also participated in the golf tournament fundraising event.

The funds raised through the 1st Annual Odessa Family YMCA Golf Tournament benefit several programs that include educational, fitness, childcare and other programs that the Y offers the community.

Ector County ISD Holds Groundbreaking Ceremony for the New CTE Center

Odessa, Texas/June 17, 2025-Hello social media friends, I’m David Gomez for DRB Media Communications Digital News. Ector County ISD officially held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new CTE Building. Jennifer Sanchez has the story. 

ECISD leaders hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday morning, June 17th. Voters approved the November 2023 Bond for the new Career & Technical Education Center. Located in southeast Odessa.

Partnerships with local industry and the Permian Strategic Partnership who donate 10 million dollars to the CTE program will be a key aspect of the ECISD-CTE Campus to prepare students for high-wages in-demand careers in the Permian Basin.
