Education Foundation of Odessa and Ector County ISD Launch Innovative Mobile Classroom

Odessa, Texas/July 14, 2024-The Education Foundation of Odessa and Ector County ISD unveiled the Inspiration Station, a cutting-edge mobile classroom and outreach vehicle. The Inspiration Station is a versatile vehicle that can transform into educational and community spaces.

The Inspiration Station is designed to bring the best of Ector County and the Permian Basin directly to students, families and the community.

Celeste Potter, Executive Director of the Education Foundation of Odessa is very proud of the work she is doing to help students with their academic careers, especially with the Inspiration Station.  

First 5 Permian Basin Roll and Read 2023 at Freedom Park in Odessa

Odessa, Texas/April 2, 2023-First 5 Permian Basin held the annual Roll & Read 2023 event on Saturday, April 1st,.at Freedom Park next to the Family YMCA in Odessa. The free family fun event included booths with activities and reading stations.

Parents brought their kids with their bikes, skates and strollers. Free books were available to families.

The Education Foundation of Odessa, Ector County ISD, Complex Community Credit Union, Harmony Home and other businesses and non-profits were at the family fun event promoting literacy.

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for a New Bookworm Vending Machine/ECISD at STEM Academy at UT Permian Basin

Odessa, Texas/January 21, 2023-On Friday, January 20th, the Education Foundation along with Atmos Energy, hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony for a new Bookworm Vending Machine at the STEM Academy at UT Permian Basin.

Atmos Energy donated funds to the Education Foundation of Odessa to purchase the bookworm vending machine. Atmos Energy wants to make sure that every student can read at a 3rd grade level by the time they get to 3rd grade.

Children books will be stocked once a year in the Bookworm Vending Machine by the Education Foundation.
