Friends & Supporters Held a Fundraising Event for Ector County Judge Dustin Fawcett

Odessa, Texas/August 24, 2025-Friends and supporters of Ector County Judge Dustin Fawcett recently held an invitation-only pre-re-election campaign fundraising event. Guests, including representatives from the City of Odessa and Ector County, enjoyed live music, hamburgers, and non-alcoholic drinks provided by The Block Meat Company.

Ector County has several projects slated for construction and demolition. Maintaining continuity and consistency within the current County Commissioners Court is essential to ensure these projects stay on track.

Sanctuary Wyrd Hosts Fundraising Vendor Market and Heavy Metal Concert

Odessa, Texas/August 20, 2025-This is DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS. Sanctuary Wyrd in Odessa recently held a fundraising event to raise money for those affected by the flooding in the Hill Country of Central Texas. Danny Barrera has the story. 

Several vendors showcasing and selling their items along with food trucks came out to participate and support Sanctuary Wyrd’s recent fundraising event to help those affected by the July 4th flooding that took the lives of adults, children and those attending summer camp.

The Lughnasadh Sabbath Market event featured the dance group PHATE and the grand finale Heavy Metal concert that feature metal groups: GNARLY JORDAN HAMMAN & HIS IMMORTALS, LOUIE & THE LIARS, CORRODED SANAITY, KILLAMANJARO and DEFACE THE BEAUTY. Concert production by MAYHEM ENTERTAIMENT WTX SOUND AND LIGHTS.

The Lughnasadh Sabbath market fundraising event and concert raised 1500 dollars to help with flood victims’ relief in Kerr County and surround flood zone area.

First Annual YMCA Golf Tournament at Ratliff Ranch Golf Links

Odessa, Texas/June 23, 2025-The Odessa Family YMCA held its first Golf Tournament at Ratliff Ranch. Around 88 players participated in the Thursday morning Tourney.

Paul Chavez the golf head coach for the University of Texas Permian Basin and a recipient of the 2025 NJCAA Legacy Awards was a featured golfer at the fundraising event.

Jaden Chavez, a Permian High School graduate is the golf head coach for Garden City Community College in Garden City, Kansas and son of Paul Chavez also participated in the golf tournament fundraising event.

The funds raised through the 1st Annual Odessa Family YMCA Golf Tournament benefit several programs that include educational, fitness, childcare and other programs that the Y offers the community.

VFW Post 4372 Car & Bike Show Benefitting Local Veterans

Odessa, Texas/May 20, 2025-The VFW Post 4372 recently held their mega car show at the VFW Headquarters off of Andrews Hwy and VFW Lane. The car show featured vintage cars and trucks from yester-year as well as motorcycles and other attractions. The funds raised from the Car Show event benefit veterans who need assistance for bills, healthcare and other special needs like funeral costs.

Vendors from across the Permian Basin showcased specialty items for sale as well as several food trucks. A motorcycle ministry provided snacks and information on resources available to visitors as well as the Honor Flight Organization giving out information and fundraising.

Odessa, Texas/November 18, 2024-The Black Chamber of Commerce of the Permian Basin held the 5th Annual Turkey Leg Tussle Domino Tournament benefiting local businesses and daycare centers in the southside of Odessa.
