Odessa College 30 For 30 Fitness Challenge Finale-DRB Media Communications Digital News

Odessa, Texas/October 7, 2022-Odessa College held its 15th Anniversary 30 For 30 FITNESS CHALLENGE finale. Over 2700 participants from across Texas took part in the fitness challenge.

The 30 FOR 30 FITNESS CHALLENGE was introduced to OC staff and employees then later open to the community by Dr. Gregory Williams, President of Odessa College. The fitness challenge is now nationwide and has spread to other countries.

19 Students Sign Letters of Commitment to Ford Asset Program-DRB Media Communications Digital News

Odessa, Texas/August 28, 2022-19 students signed letters of commitment to the elite two-year specialized Automotive Student Service Education Training program also known as the Ford ASSET Program at Odessa College’s Automotive Technology.

Students were joined by representatives of their sponsor dealerships from Sewell Ford in Odessa, Rogers Ford in Midland, Bayer Ford of Lamesa and Premier Ford of Camanche, Texas

OC Automotive Technology students will alternate between classroom learning and hands-on experience at a Ford or Lincoln Dealership over a 24-month period.

When the students successfully complete the two-year program, they will have earned an Associate’s Degree and Ford Certifications.

DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS(071322)-MCH AND OC TO ASSIST NURSING SCHOOL STUDENTS WITH TUITION

Odessa, Texas/July 13, 2022-Medical Center Health System and Odessa college announced a partnership to assist nursing school students with tuition. On June 7th, the agreement between MCH and OC was approved by the Ector County Hospital District Board of Directors.

Students who are interested in nursing school can apply through Medical Center Hospital. Existing and new students that are enrolled in the OC Nursing Program are eligible to apply for the MCH Nursing Scholarship.

Upon graduation, MCH will guarantee at least two years of employment.

Medical Center Hospital currently has 65 nursing positions open and is ready to hire qualified nurses.

DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS(062922)-ODESSA COLLEGE DOWNTOWN GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY

Odessa, Texas/June 29, 2022-Odessa College held a special groundbreaking ceremony that began at the Odessa Marriott Hotel and Conference Center featuring commentary from college representatives, and Mayor Javier Joven. Odessa College will a major presence in downtown area beginning with Phase One with the development of a green space and an educational facility.

Plans to revitalize the Odessa Downtown area started about 20 years ago. The Odessa Marriott Hotel and Conference Center became the center piece and the start of the revitalization of downtown.

The Odessa College Phase One downtown development may be completed within 8th months. Additional fundraising is now underway.

The future site of the Odessa College green space and multi-facility buildings was the original location of the old Odessa American newspaper, which was purchased by the last city council administration, under Mayor David Turner.

Odessa, Texas/June 10, 2022-Odessa College held its 2nd Annual Preview Day Fair at the outdoor Amphitheatre behind the Saulsbury Campus Center on Thursday, June 9th. Representatives from all OC instructional department answered questions of what Odessa College has to offer its students.

Odessa, Texas/November 11, 2021-On Thursday morning, November 11th Odessa College employees and students gathered to honor veterans and observe the annual Veterans’ Day Flag Raising Ceremony.

Odessa College board of trustees member Bruce Shearer was honored with a plaque during the ceremony in recognition of his service to the nation, Odessa College and to the Odessa community.

The Odessa Police Department Honor Guard performed the flag raising ceremony infront of the Saulsbury Campus Center.
