Odessa, Texas/March 30, 2024-The iconic Pan American Ballroom constructed in the mid-to late 60’s has been sold to a Mexico based sports/entertainment company with offices in Dallas. The now BUYER’S TO ARENA Sports Event Center will feature a variety of contact sports competitions as well as cultural events slated for late Spring and Summer.

The Odessa Chamber of Commerce, Mayor Javier Joven and City Councilman Mark Matta, District 1 along with of GORILLA HEAVY HITTERS held a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the new sports venue in the southside of Odessa.

Odessa, Texas/August 29, 2022-Discover Odessa hosted The Boxing Showcase and Gorilla Heavy Hitters press conference to announce the WBC Big Belt Championship Boxing event at the iconic Pan American Ballroom on October 15th.

The boxing event will feature Odessa’s own Conrad Martinez, and his younger brother, Pedro Martinez. The card includes heavyweight Roman Huerta, Angel Villanueva, Anthony Sanchez, Michael Rey from Hobbs, New Mexico. Also, on the card is Joshua Montoya, and Mario Gonzalez.

Odessa, Texas/May 6, 2022-The Boxing Showcase and Gorilla Heavy Hitters held their next fight press conference at Twin Peaks in Odessa. The boxing showcase will feature several local boxers and boxers from Mexico.

Several of the local boxers featured on the card revealed how they are preparing for the upcoming fight on Saturday, May 14th at La Hacienda Event Center.

The fight will be available on several pay per view services domestically and internationally. At this time there is no scheduled local market black out or embargo on the Boxing Showcase event.

Odessa, Texas/February 3, 2022-Gorilla Heavy Hitters recently held a press conference to announced the 2nd  big boxing event scheduled for February 5th.  

This boxing event will feature Odessa’s own, Conrad Martinez.

The Boxing event will be held at Diamond Event Center in West Odessa. The boxing card will feature 8 fights, 4 final fights and 4 qualifing fights.

Odessa, Texas/December 11, 2021-Gorilla Heavy Hitters Boxing Gym announced recently the WBC Boxing tour, coming to Odessa, Texas, January 29th, 2022. The Boxing Showcase originates from Mexico, with tours throughout the U.S.
