FREE CAR SEAT & BOOSTER SEAT INSPECTIONS

Odessa, Texas/June 2024, 20The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, TxDot and Odessa Fire Rescue held the annual Free Car Seat and Booster Seat inspections. State statistic show that there is about 98.8% misuse of child safety seats.

Families with an outdated car seat or a child safety seat with missing parts are eligible to receive a free car seat through a distribution program provided by the Texas A&M Agrilife Extension and TxDot.

Special Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to Officially Open the Yukon Road & Loop 338 Interchange

Odessa, Texas/April 28, 2024-On Friday April 26th, representatives with the Texas Department of Transportation, Odessa District and State Representative, District 81, Brooks Landgraf, along with Odessa Mayor Javier Joven, Odessa City Councilman, District 1 Mark Matta, Councilwoman At-Large Denise Swanner and Councilman, District 2 Steve Thompson joined the Odessa Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors for a special ribbon cutting ceremony to official open Yukon and East Loop 338 Overpass. Yukon and East Loop 338 will allow for motorists and commercial traffic to travel safely.

The City of Odessa invested funds through the Odessa Development Corporation towards the Yukon/East Loop 338 project for future economic development in Northeast Odessa and key areas along the Loop.

TxDot in partnership with Odessa, Ector County the City of Midland and Midland County, through the Permian Basin Metropolitan Planning Organization recognized that Yukon and East Loop 338 was a major priority area.

The total cost of the Yukon/Loop 338 interchange was 20 million dollars. TxDot will clean up and touchups and remove safety signs.

DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS(040522)-LOOP 250 OVERPASS AT CR 1140 RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY

Midland, Texas/April 5, 2022-The Texas Department of Transportation held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, April 5th, to celebrate the opening of the Loop 250 overpass at County Road 1140. The project also extended the main lanes of Loop 250 from County 1150 to BI-20.

The Permian Basin Metropolitan Planning Organization identified the need for an overpass and made the location a priority. The Midland Development Corporation helped secure the remaining $19.5 million dollars need to cover the bid price from the Texas Transportation Commission.

The completion of the Loop 250 overpass will have an economic benefit the city of Midland and also improve safety with motorists.

There are plans in pre-development for the construction of an overpass on Todd Drive in the near future, and the Loop 250 overpass at County Road 1140 will open to traffic within the next couple of weeks.
