Odessa, Texas/July 16, 2024-Phillips 66 recently made a donation of 29 thousand dollars to the Odessa Police Department for the purchase of several new drones. OPD currently has four drones that are being used in locating suspects, missing children and missing elderly persons.

With the advancement of drone technology especially the quality of the onboard camera officers are able to use various options during an operation.

The Odessa Police Department currently has 6 officer pilots in the drone program. Plans are underway to train more officers to be FAA certified to be drone pilots.
