Odessa, Texas/October 7, 2025-The Black Chamber of Commerce of the Permian Basin Held their 35th Annual Ebony Bar Awards. Danny Barrera has the story. 

The MCM Grande Hotel and Fun dome recently hosted the Black Chamber of Commerce of the Permian Basin and the 35th Annual Ebony Bar Awards. This year, local entrepreneurs were honored for their contributions to the Odessa economy.

Several nonprofit organizations, Medical and scholastic institutions and local businesses participated in the special event. Representatives from the city of Odessa and Ector County came out in support of the recipients receiving the Ebony Bar Awards.

Sister City Showdown Challenge hosted by URBAN AIR in Music City Mall

Odessa, Texas/October 1, 2025-This is DRB Media Communications Digital News. Urban Air indoor park at Music City Mall recently hosted a very special event for Special Olympics Texas. Danny Barrera has the story. 

Urban Air inside Music City Mall hosted the Sister City Showdown Challenge, where governmental bodies and departments from Odessa and Midland — including the Fire and Police Departments — competed in support of Special Olympics.

The Sister City Showdown raised funds to support Special Olympics Texas and its upcoming State Fall Classic, where nearly 1,200 athletes from across the state will compete.

As part of the State Fall Classic, Urban Air will close its doors on October 2nd to welcome Special Olympics athletes for registration and a fun-filled day at the indoor park.

West Texas Food Bank Odessa Campus Special Legislative Staffers Luncheon

Legislative staffers came to the West Texas Food Bank, Odessa Campus for a special luncheon and to hear a presentation from Dr. Ray Perryman on the economy, economic impact of oil and gas and food insecurity.

Dr. Ray Perryman, President and CEO of the Perryman Group, an economic research organization presented to the Legislative staffers the economic impact of hunger on job performance, income, education, quality of life and other issue related to food insecurity.

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the 2nd Annual Odessa Dia De Los Muertos 2025

Odess, Texas/September 20, 2025-This is DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS. the second annual Odessa Dia De Los Muertos was officially announced at the Marriott Hotel and Conference Center. Jennifer Smith has the story.  

The Odessa Chamber of Commerce, along with the Odessa and Midland Hispanic Chambers of Commerce, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Odessa Marriott and Conference Center to announce the 2nd Annual Odessa Día de los Muertos Festival and Parade 2025.

The Odessa Dia De Los Muertos Festival and Parade is set for Saturday, October 18th, bringing an evening full of fun, culture, and entertainment for the whole family.

While the traditional Día de los Muertos holiday is observed from October 31st to November 2nd, Odessa’s celebration

Hispanic Heritage of Odessa Celebrates 16th of September with Music and Pan Dulce at City Hall in Odessa

Odessa, Texas/September 16, 2025- This is DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS. Hispanic Heritage of Odessa held a special 16th of September event at City Hall in Odessa. Danny Barrera has the story. 

In celebration of the 16th of September and Hispanic Heritage Month, LULAC and Hispanic Heritage of Odessa provided entertainment for the City of Odessa employees and staff along with guest. The event featured a performance by Juana Jaquez and Mariachi Aguila singing well-known popular and traditional Mexican songs.

Hispanic Heritage Month is a celebration and recognition of the rich Mexican Culture and traditions. Visitors to the Odessa City Hall enjoyed a wide selection of Mexican sweet breads and juices.
