Odessa, Texas/May 20, 2022-On Thursday, May 19th, Medical Center Health System and Odessa Mayor Javier Joven recognized May 19th as National Stop the Bleed Day. Two free Stop the Bleed classes were held at the Medical Center Hospital boardroom following the special proclamation.

The purpose of the Stop the Bleed program is to educate the community though hands-on training on three quick was to control serious bleeding

The next Stop the Bleed Class is scheduled on June 3rd from 2pm to 4pm at the Rankin County Hospital in Rankin, Texas for staff and the public.

Odessa, Texas/February 10, 2022-Medical Center Hospital NICU launched the Angel Eye Camera System, whick will allow parents to monitor their baby in real-time when they can’t be at the hospital. The Angel Eye allows for a continual video feed from the baby’s isolette/crib through a protected password.

The Angel Eye camera system give parents peace of mind when away from their baby and is a HIPAA-compliant website.

The Angel Eye camera system allows nurses to send parents vital information about their baby thru text messaging.

Medical Center Hospital spent 40 thousand dollars for 15 cameras, which includes software upgrades. The funds were made available through a grant from the ACE Hardware Foundation-Helping Hand Grant Program.

Odessa, Texas/January 1, 2022 – Medical Center Hospital is celebrating its first delivery of 2022. Baby Ryder Vela was born at 1.27 a.m. and weighed in at 6 pounds, 8 ounces. Her proud parents are Stephanie Vela and Henry Vela.
Lori’s Gifts at the hospital gifted the family a diaper bag, while the hospital gifted them several newborn items and a Target Gift Card.
