Midland College Hosts Science Extravaganza 2025

Midland, Texas/March 31, 2025-Midland College hosted the annual Science Extravaganza 2025. Around 1,300 sixth grade students from MISD engaged in an exciting, interactive and hands-on science experience.

This year, MC’s Science Extravaganza features activities that include explosive chemistry experiments, an obstacle course, fingerprinting and other fun activities.

Midland College faculty also interacted with the 6th Graders giving the students a glimpse into college life and the importance of STEM Education.

The morning and the afternoon sessions concluded with a Grand Finale and an interactive demonstration designed to leave students with a desire to learn more about science.

Midland College holds Science Extravaganzaa for Midland ISD Elementary Students

Midland, Texas/April 29, 2024-Midland College recently hosted “Science Extravaganza” for Midland ISD Elementary students. The purpose of the science event is to get them involved, not only in math and science, but other life sciences.

Midland College is always reaching out to school-age children through various events to inform students of the many opportunities the college offers for post-graduation.

STEM education is a priority for Midland College and know that the Oil and Gas industry is dependent on employees knowing math, science and technology.

Midland College will have a taskforce in the fall that will investigate Artificial Intelligence, how it will affect academia and how to teach it to the next generation of students and how to use it in a proper and ethical way.

Midland ISD Presents Awards to Teachers Totaling $1 5 Million

Midland, Texas/May 23, 2022-During the final week of school, Midland ISD awarded 193 teachers at 33 MISD campuses a total of $1.5 million dollars as part of the Teacher Incentive Allotment.

The Teacher Incentive Allotment program has three levels: The Recognized, The Exemplary and The Master’s.

Receiving this type award is a motivator for teachers to inspire their students to be better at achieving educational goals, while setting goals for themselves, the teacher as well.
