Ector County Republican Women February 2025 Meeting and Luncheon

Odessa, Texas/February 26, 2025-The Ector County Republican Women recently held their February 2025 meeting and luncheon featuring presentations from the medical field, oil and gas and new multi-million-dollar projects being considered in Odessa and Ector County.

Congressman August Pfluger and EPA Region 6 Administrator Hold Meeting

Midland, Texas/May 12, 2024-Congressman August Pfluger representing the 11th District of Texas along with State Representative Brooks Landgraf, State Senator, District 31 Kevin Sparks and City of Midland Mayor Lori Blong held a special meeting with Dr. Earthea Nance, Regional Administrator for EPA’s Region 6. Dr. Nance and her team went to a tank battery site on an educational tour to learn of the emissions reductions the Permian Basin is leading in all areas of Production.

The emphasis and goal of the meeting with Dr. Nance, and representatives is to work together, especially with the increase in production to fuel the globe

Diamondback Energy provided the tour location of their facilities to Dr. Nance and to Congressman Pfluger and State and local representatives to educate Dr. Nance the advancement in technologies developed by the industry to improve air and other emissions.

Governor Greg Abbott Visits the Welding Department at Odessa College

Odessa, Texas/February 3, 2023-On Thursday, February 2nd, Governor Greg Abbott visited the Welding Department at Odessa College, where he, OC President, Dr. Gregory Williams, State Representative, District 81 Brooks Landgraf, State Senator, District 31 Keven Sparks and other officials held a WORKFORCE OF TOMORROW Roundtable discussing the impact that welding has on oil and gas and manufacturing.

The Odessa College welding Department serves students from Ector County ISD and other school districts from around the Permian Basin and West Texas providing graduates that are trained and skilled welders.

Currently there is a high demand for welders in the oil and gas and manufacturing sectors. Odessa College’s Welding program is trying meet the demand.

Many commercial drivers operate with the wrong class of drivers license, and other violations. These issues create challenges to the Texas Department of Public Safety in policing commercial vehicles.
