Odessa, Texas/January 30, 2022-The Odessa Police Department hosted the Odessa Police Academy 23 graduation ceremony at the Odessa Marriott. Seven OPA 23 graduating recruits and 2 Odessa Fire-Rescue officers with the Fire Marshals department completed required training.

Lorenzo Rivas is following in his father’s footsteps when he joined Odessa Fire Rescue in May of 2020. Lorenzo Rivas, Jr., was with the Odessa Fire Department for 25 years until his retirement.

The newly sworn-in Odessa Police Officers will immediately begin their field training. It is hoped that these new officers will be able help enforce the city ordinance regarding game rooms
