20th Annual H E B ‘s Feast of Sharing in Odessa-DRB Media Communications Digital News

Odessa, Texas/December 10, 2022-H.E.B. celebrated the 20th Annual Feast of Sharing at the Ector County Coliseum in Barn D and E. Several thousands of people came out to the feast and enjoyed Bar-B-Que brisket, potato salad, beans and apple pie. The event featured a kid’s section, where kids played in the jumpers, played video games and took pictures with Santa Claus.

Around 100 volunteers from several non-profit organization, that included athletes from Odessa High and Permian High School, Keep Odessa Beautiful and their volunteers helped with the event by serving the meals and bussing tables and throwing trash.

Children of all ages came out to H.E.B.’s Feast of Sharing event for the kid fun and a tasty Bar-B-Que dinner.

H E B Sponsors the Special Holiday Meal ahead of the Annual Feast of Sharing Event

Odessa, Texas/December 8, 2022-Meals on Wheels has partnered with H-E-B to provide a special holiday meal to the homebound seniors and disabled clients Meals on Wheels Serves.

H-E-B has included Meals on Wheels of Odessa Clients that cannot participate in person at the 20th Annual Feast of Sharing event.

Odessa Regional Medical Center prepare and cook the nutritious meals for distribution for Meals on Wheels of Odessa clients. Volunteers with the nonprofit organization assisted with the labeling of H-E-B logo on the special holiday meals.

This year’s Feast of Sharing Event will be Friday, December 9th from 4 to 8pm. This year’s meal will not be the traditional turkey and dressing with all the fixins’.

No Quorum No Odessa City Council Work Session

Odessa, Texas/December 7, 2022-The Odessa City Council had scheduled a work session for 3pm on Tuesday, December 6th. 15 items were on the agenda. Then this happened.

The first item on the agenda: Discussion and consider the reports and recommendations from Evergreen Solutions LLC. Representatives from Evergreen Solutions were at the Odessa City Council Chambers, when the announcement of the work session was canceled by City Councilman, District 2, Steve Thompson.

Rumors had been circulating on social media that Mayor Javier Joven and the new City Council were considering the termination of the Odessa City Manager, Michael Marrero.

During a phone interview with the Odessa City Secretary, Norma Grimaldo, confirmed that Mayor Javier Joven, Odessa City Councilmember-At Large, Denise Swanner and City Councilman, District 4 Greg Connell informed the City Secretary that they would make the work session. City Councilman, District 1 Mark Matta was not sure if would attend the scheduled meeting.

Midland College Holiday Evening A Free Community Event

Midland, Texas/December 6, 2022-Midland College recently hosted a free Holiday Evening at the Allison Fine Arts Building. Families and their children had the opportunity to take a photo with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Families and guests were able to purchase a chili dinner, with proceeds benefiting the Alumni scholarships.

Downtown Odessa Hosted Letters to Santa & 27th Annual Parade of Lights

 

Odessa, Texas/December 5, 2022-Downtown Odessa, Inc. hosted LETTERS TO SANTA a free event this past Saturday. Families with their children came to the Copper-Rose Building for this free event.

Owners of the Copper-Rose Building celebrated their second year being part of the Odessa community by making available a historic venue for events this Christmas season.

Downtown Odessa, Inc. Celebrated the 27th annual Parade of lights on Saturday, December 3rd. Over 126 organizations registered for the parade with over 300 vehicle interties.

Annual SEWELL SERVES Helps Seniors at Meals on Wheels of Odessa

Odessa, Texas/December 3, 2022-On Sunday, December 3rd, members from the Sewell Family of Companies team helped Meals on Wheels of Odessa deliver Senior Boxes, from the Commodity Supplemental Food Program.

Meals on Wheels serves a nutritious meal to homebound seniors and the disabled Monday thru Friday in partnership with Odessa Regional Medical Center which prepares the meals.
