Recording Library of West Texas “Brews and Blindfolds” Fundraising Event Hosted by The Blue Door

Midland, Texas/March 9, 2024-The Recording Library of Midland recently held “Brews and Blindfolds” fundraiser hosted by the BLUE DOOR. Guests purchased drinks to raise funds to help blind and low vision adults in West Texas.

The fundraising event featured live music, permanent jewelry, cigar rolling, including House of Havana and “Guess the Beer” challenge.

Dr. Scott Muri, Superintendent of Schools at Ector County ISD Hosts 4th Annual State of the District

Odessa, Texas/March 8, 2024-Ector County ISD held the 4th annual State of the District hosted by Dr. Scott Muri, Superintendent of Schools. Dr. Muri updated parents, educators and members of the community on several academic topics from 2019 up to 2024.

Prior to the State of the District presentation attendees enjoyed various treats created and presented by students of the culinary Arts program at Ector County ISD and entertainment provided by the Permian High School Jazz Band.

Donna Kelm Elected as the New Ector County Republican Chair

Odessa, Texas/March 7, 2024-Supporters and invited guests attended the Election Watch Party during the Republican and Democratic Primary elections on Tuesday, March 5th. The watch party featured Donna Kelm, Ronnie Lewis and Ector County Republican Precinct Chairs that were running for re-election. And those running for the first time.

Donna Kelm, a Republican candidate running for Ector County Republican Party Chair won the Party position that was held for a time by Tisha Crow.

Richard Pierce was re-elected to Ector County Republican Precinct Chair 204, defeating Mayor Javier Joven who also ran for same position.

Traci Gregston, a first-time candidate, ran for Ector County Republican Precinct Chair 202 was elected to Precinct Chair position.

As the new Ector County Republican Party Chair, Donna Kelm promises to be more transparent and keep the Party Precinct Chairs informed of ECRP activities.

The newly elected candidates are hopeful to unite the local Republican Party, and bring change to local government that will benefit the citizens of Odessa and Ector County.

NMC Chef Showdown Culinary Event-Battle for the Golden Skillet Award

Odessa, Texas/March 3, 2024-The Nonprofit Management Center held the NMC Chef Showdown, a new and unique culinary event that brought together local chefs that competed for the BATTLE FOR THE GOLDEN SKILLET Award.

Guests at the Chef Showdown enjoyed live entertainment, interactive cooking demonstrations, and sampled a variety of dishes.

The Nonprofit Management Center Chef Showdown-Golden Skillet Award was a success. There are plans for the 2nd Annual NMC Chef Showdown coming next year.

United Way of Odessa 2023 2024 Report Luncheon and Awards Ceremony

Odessa, Texas/March 2, 2024-The United Way of Odessa recently held their Annual Report 2023 and Luncheon at the MCM Grande Fundome. Several Nonprofit agencies along with the City of Odessa, Ector County ISD and Odessa College participated in the event.

The United Way recognized and awarded oil and gas businesses, individuals and educational institutions for their financial support of the United Way of Odessa.

Odessa Sports Complex Soft Groundbreaking Ceremony

Odessa, Texas/March 1, 2024-Recently the City of Odessa held a soft groundbreaking ceremony at the new site of the Odessa Sports Complex. City Officials and Dignitaries attended the special ceremony. This project has been in the works for several decades.

The Odessa Sports Complex will include up to 20 volleyball courts, 10 basketball courts, baseball and soccer fields.

The approximately 100-thousand square foot Sports Complex will be a Public-Private Partnership with an estimated cost of about 70 million dollars. It is estimated that the complex will generate millions of dollars through sporting events

Larry Bell and his family donated 100 acres of land within the Parks Bell Ranch Master Development to begin the Odessa Sports Complex.
