Odessa, Texas/August 24, 2024-The Odessa Family YMCA is holding its 2nd Annual Pulling for Our Cause. The Glay Shoot Fundraiser is set for Friday, August 30th from 8am to 2pm at Jake’s Clays in Midland.

OPD AND ECSO HOLD “BURGERS FOR BADGES” AT 2 WHATABURGER LOCATIONS

Odessa, Texas/March 23, 2024-The Odessa Police Department held their Burgers for Badges fundraiser event at the Whataburger located at the corner of 42nd and JBS Parkway. Burgers for Badges kicks off the annual Bustin for Badges clay shoot event.

Judie Porras, a Personal Trainer, who has been with the Odessa Family YMCA for many years is donating her kidney to her husband Javier Aguirre after doctors in the ER revealed kidney failure.

14th Annual Robert E Williams Golf Tournament Hosted by the Black Chamber of Commerce Permian Basin

Odessa, Texas/July 16, 2023-The Black Chamber of Commerce of the Permian Basin held its 14th annual Robert E. Williams Golf Tournament at the Sunset Golf Course. The purpose of the golf tournament is to raise funds to provide scholarships to qualified High School Seniors graduating in 2024.

This year, the Robert E. Williams Golf Tournament had 22 teams of 4 players, that included business owners, City of Odessa representatives, Ector County Commissioner, Pct. 2 Greg Simmons and other VIP’S. Some of the funds raised come from sponsorships and banner sponsors.

6th Annual Knights of Columbus Council 3203 Golf Tournament-DRB Media Communications Digital News

Odessa, Texas/October 8, 2022-The Knights of Columbus Council 3203 held their 6th Annual Golf Tournament at the Sunset Country Club in Odessa, Texas. 31 teams and title sponsors participated in the tournament. This tourney is scheduled during the weekend before Columbus Day.

In an effort to bring back golfers and sponsors for next year, event organizers make the tournament an exciting and fun event for the participants. Several of the title sponsors provided food stands in various locations around the golf course with a wide variety of grilled meats and beverages as well as assorted candies to golfers throughout the tournament. The funds raised benefit the Knights of Columbers, Council 3203 for projects and donations to non-profit organizations.

Odessa, Texas/September 2, 2022-Throughout the month of September, United Family locations across Texas and New Mexico began raising funds and spreading awareness about muscular dystrophy, ALS, and related neuromuscular disease. United Supermarkets and Market Street in Odessa kicked-off the fundraising event.
