Grand Open and Ribbion Cutting Ceremony of The Ronald McDonald Family Room at MMH

Midland, Texas/November 3, 2022-Midland Memorial Hospital and Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Southwest held the Grand Opening of the Ronald McDonald Family Room at MMH. Ronald McDonald House Charities have partnered with Midland Memorial Hospital to expand the outreach to Midland to serve more families and children.

The Ronald McDonald Family Room provides a short period of rest and relief for families of children undergoing medical treatment.

The Ronald McDonald Family room offers many of the comforts of home to help alleviate the anxiety of being in a hospital environment for families while remaining only a heartbeat away from their child.

Any Family who has a hospitalized child is welcome without charge. The Ronald McDonald Family Room is located on the 4th floor of Midland Memorial Hospital, off the main lobby.

DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS(080422)PERMIAN BASIN HEALTHCARE VISION CAUSING CONCERN WITH ODESSA RESIDENTS

Odessa, Texas/August 4, 2022-A healthcare vision plan for the Permian Basin spearheaded by the Permian Strategic Partnership is causing concern with Odessa residents. The plan calls for dissolving the Medical Center Health System and repurpose Medical Center Hospital.

On Monday, June 27th, 2022 a coordinating meeting was held at the Wagnor Noel Performing Arts Center that listed Russell Meyers, CEO of Midland Health and Russell Tippin, CEO of Medical Center Hospital as participants. The agenda included a discuss of the various components of the Permian Basin Healthcare Vision, that includes: A PREPARATION FOR SEPTEMBER 2022-23 LEGISLATIVE SESSION PROPOSALS-to promote potential public and private partnerships.

The Permian Basin Healthcare Vision plan also involves bringing in Texas Tech Health Science Center into the fold. Any attempt to centralized healthcare would have a negative economic impact in Odessa and Ector County.

Residents in West Odessa in Ector County would have to travel approximately thirty miles if Medical Center Hospital was repurposed as an emergency facility.

Midland Memorial Hospital would possibly close as a hospital and repurposed as an emergency medical facility. The Permian Basin Healthcare Vision also includes the UTPB MASTER PLAN, that shows drawings of an expansion and development, possibly on property east of 1788 near the UTPB ENGINEERING BUILDING and The Wagnor Noel Performing Arts Center in Midland County.

Midland, Texas/April 26, 2022-Midland Memorial Hospital hosted a carnival for healthcare heroes in the parking lot off of the Illinois street Entrance. The event was sponsored and made possible by the Abell-Hanger Foundation.

Midland, Texas/January 2, 2022-Midland Memorial Hospital  congratulates the Luna family of Midland on the birth of their new baby boy, the first child born in Midland in 2022. Mario Alexander Luna was born at 12:17 AM to Carmen and Mario Luna, weighing 9 lbs 11 oz and 21 inches long. 

The family was presented with a gift basket full of items for the new baby and mom. 

Gift basket items include: 

  • Grooming kit, wash clothes, baby soap, and socks from Hope Chest, a program sponsored by Midland Health and Midland Memorial Foundation
