Meals on Wheels Renews Partnership with H E B for Feast of Sharing #homebound #communityevent

Odessa, Texas/December 4, 2025-Meals on Wheels teamed up once again with H-E-B for the annual Feast of Sharing community dinner on Friday, December 5th at the Ector County Coliseum. This year, H-E-B also provided a special holiday meal for homebound Meals on Wheels of Odessa clients, ensuring everyone had a chance to enjoy the season’s generosity.  

The Feast of Sharing event is open to the public and will feature holiday music, live entertainment, games for the kids, and a special visit from Santa Claus. 

HEB contributed a six-thousand-dollar donation to help provide special holiday meals for Meals on Wheels of Odessa clients throughout Odessa and Ector County. 

Employees from H-E-B visited the Meals on Wheels of Odessa facility to volunteer their time, helping prepare and deliver meals to elderly and homebound clients across the community.

Team Odessa Back-to-School Free Fish Fry Community Event

On Monday evening, August 4th a newly formed organization called TEAM ODESSA held a Back to School Fish Fry event. This was a free event for residents of Odessa to meet City and County Officials in an informal setting.

Odessa, Texas/August 6, 2025-Odessa City Councilman District 1 Eddie Mitchell along with representatives of LULAC and Hispanic Heritage of Odessa and other organizations came out to support the 1st Annual TEAM ODESSA Event  hosted by Big Daddy’s Grill and Bar where it was estimated that over 300 people attended the community event.

2nd Annual Halloween Trunk or Treat Event at East 12th Street Townhomes in Odessa

Odessa, Texas/October 28, 2024-The East 12th Street Townhomes recently held their 2nd Annual Community Trunk or Treat Free Event. Mom’s and Dad’s and their children came out for a fun afternoon enjoying the sites and getting all types of candy.

Work for a Cause Not Applause Community Event-Praise and Worship Christmas Concert

Odessa, Texas/December 23, 2023-Mayor Javier Joven and the City of Odessa recently held an event called WORK FOR A CAUSE, NOT APPLAUSE. Residents came out to the former Hollywood Theatre location inside Music City Mall to meet Officers with the Odessa Police Department and Odessa Fire Rescue. Several non-profit and faith-based non-profit organizations were part of the event, providing information of community services offered.

A praise and worship Christmas concert was also held near the Carousel area of Music City Mall.

Odessa Police Department Holds Coffee With A Cop Event Hosted by Whataburger on 42nd & JBS Parkway

Odessa, Texas/July 14, 2023-The Odessa Police Department held its first Coffee with a Cop event in three years. Officers met with residents and patrons at the Whataburger located at 42nd and JBS Parkway.

Keep Odessa Better, Business Bureau and Secured Document Shredding Hold Document Shredding Event

Odessa, Texas/May 7, 2023-On Saturday, May 6th, Keep Odessa Beautiful and The Better Business Bureau teamed up with Secured Document Shredding and invited residents of the Permian Basin out to the Odessa Recycling Center for a document shredding event.

The document shredding event helps residents with limited resources destroy documents they’ve had in storage for many years and help prevent identity theft.

All shredded documents from Saturday’s event will be taken to Butts Recyling to be recycled and keep most of the shredded documents from going to the landfill.
