Midland/Odessa,Texas/November 9, 2022-In last night’s November 8th, 2022 Election Returns, In Midland, Edelmira “Ede” Subia, a candidate for Midland County Justice of the Peace, Pct. 1, won the JP Pct. 1 position by 7, 006 votes.

DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS(061622R)-LAWRENCE HOLLEY ARRESTED FOR FALSE REPORT

Midland, Texas/June 16, 2022- Around 9:58 AM, a call was received reporting a kidnapping and shots fired. Deputies from the Midland County Sheriff’s Office, and other local agencies responded to the scene near CR320 and Rankin Highway 349 near the Midland-Upton County Line. The investigation revealed that there was no kidnapping, shots fired, nor a threat to the public. The original caller, identified as Lawrence Holley, 72 years-of-age, was taken into custody by Midland County Sheriff’s Office Deputies.

DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS(042122)-STRUCTURE FIRE AT VIKING POOLS IN MIDLAND COUNTY

Midland County, Texas/April 21, 2022-On Wednesday, April 20th, at approximately 7:45 pm a fire was reported at Viking Pools after the last employee of the business locked the gate. The business is located in the area of 1788 in Midland County. 

It is undetermined what caused the fire. At this time, Investigators believe that the fire was accidental and not arson. 

Odessa Fire-Rescue, Odessa Police Department and other first responder agencies assisted the Midland Fire Department, Midland Police Department and Sheriff’s Office in an effort to contain the blaze and traffic control. 

The blaze was extinguished at approximately 1:30 am. 

The business is currently closed, and the investigation continues.

DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS(011122)MURDER WARRANT SERVED IN CONNECTION OF THE MURDER OF IVAN JOSE ORTIZ-CASTILLO

Midland, Texas/January 11, 2022-A murder warrant has been served by the Midland County Sheriff’s Office for the murder that occurred on December 27, 2021, resulting in the death of Ivan Jose Ortiz-Castillo. 

Nereida Viscarra-Garcia, 23 years-of-age, was served a murder warrant by Midland County Sheriff’s Office for her involvement in the death of Ivan Jose Ortiz-Castillo. 

Nereida Viscarra-Garcia has also been charged with Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence. 

The investigation is still ongoing.

DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS(011022)-TXDPS INVESTATING FATAL CRASH 5 MILES EAST OF MIDLAND

Midland, Texas/January 10, 2022-On Saturday, January 8th, 2022 at approximately 5:01p.m. a fatal crash occurred at South County Road 1140, 5 miles east of Midland involving a 2017 Toyota Corolla. 

The TxDPS Highway Patrol Preliminary information revealed that the Toyota Corolla was traveling southbound on CR 1140.  The driver identified as Louise Renee Pyle a 54 years-of-age female of Midland failed to stop at a stop sign, and the vehicle crossed over CR 120 and then struck a fence. 

Pyle was pronounced deceased at the scene by Justice Court Investigator Carlos Castanos
