Permian High School Student Cause Threat With Gun-DRB Media Communications Digital News

Odessa, Texas/August 26, 2022-According to a source, at approximately 3:15 pm an incident erupted during or close to Permian High School’s 8th period. PHS officials immediatley put the school into lockdown. The incident erupted near a classroom where several male students were involved. One who allegedly pulled out a gun.  

It is believed that the male subjects were in a dispute with some female students. It is believed that ECISD Police were dealing with the male subjects earlier in the day. 

The ECISD Police, Odessa Police and other agencies responded to the threat. 

It has been reported by a witness inside the school that an arrest was made.

DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS(081922)-TENNESSEE MAN ARRESTED FOR STOLEN VEHICLE

Odessa, Texas/August 19, 2022-On Thursday, August 18th at about 9:09am the Odessa Police Department’ received a report of a stolen vehicle in the area of East 8th and North Grandview Ave. 

OPD officers observed the vehicle parked at the Auto Zone parking lot located in the 1900 block of East 8th near the intersection of East 8th and McKinley across from the Whataburger. 

Wulfert Colton, 27-years-of-age of Tennessee, was arrested for Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS(061622R)-LAWRENCE HOLLEY ARRESTED FOR FALSE REPORT

Midland, Texas/June 16, 2022- Around 9:58 AM, a call was received reporting a kidnapping and shots fired. Deputies from the Midland County Sheriff’s Office, and other local agencies responded to the scene near CR320 and Rankin Highway 349 near the Midland-Upton County Line. The investigation revealed that there was no kidnapping, shots fired, nor a threat to the public. The original caller, identified as Lawrence Holley, 72 years-of-age, was taken into custody by Midland County Sheriff’s Office Deputies.

DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS(051722)-ODESSA POLICE INVESTIGATING MURDER OF A FEMALE

Odessa, Texas/May 17, 2022-During the evening hours of Monday, May 16th Odessa Police and Odessa Fire Rescue responded to a call of a deceased person at the Parkway Inn Motel located at 3731 East Highway 80. The investigation revealed that a female had been stabbed multiple times and was unresponsive. Investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division began investigating the death of the adult female. 

An arrest warrant was issued for Jose Sarinana, 46, for the offense of Murder- First Degree Felony. He has been placed into custody and was transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.  

The victim has been identified as Cynthia Ann Mendoza, 46 years of age, from Lamesa, TX.

DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS(032222)-OPD INVESTIGATING FATAL CRASH AT 42ND AND GRANDVIEW

Odessa, Texas/March 22, 2022-On Tuesday, March 22nd at approximately 7:07am, Odessa Police was dispatched to the intersection of E. 42nd and N. Grandview in reference to a hit and run in which a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle. Medical personnel arrived on scene and advised that the pedestrian, a 28-year-old male, was deceased.

Witnesses say the victim was standing in the left turn lane on the 1900 block of E. 42nd St. when a red vehicle was traveling eastbound and struck the victim in the left turn lane and then fled the scene, turning northbound on N. Grandview.
 
The investigation revealed that the vehicle was a Toyota Corolla and the driver was identified as 25-year-old Christy Contreras. An arrest warrant was obtained and she was arrested without incident, and was transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center. Contreras is being charged with accident involving death, 2nd degree felony.
 
The victim is not being identified pending notification of next of kin. The investigation continues.
