Odessa, Texas/November 11, 2022-Odessa College Staff and Students gathered at the Saulsbury Campus Center to honor military veterans during the annual Veteran’s Day Flag Raising Ceremony Center. 

Odessa College Instructional Technology and Programming Specialist and Military Veteran, Alex Moreno was the featured speaker.

Moren joined the Marine Corps and served from October 1990 to November 2010. He was deployed twice during his service once to Operation Restore Hope in Somalia and in Operation Enduring Freedom in Iraq.

Alex Moreno returned to Odessa and pursued his college degree at Odessa College. He completed his bachelor degree in Network and Communication Management at DeVry University.

Midland Grand Jury Indict Former Administrators-DRB Media Communications Digital News

Midland, Texas/November 11, 2022-The Grand Jury in Midland handed down indictments on three former Midland Christian School Administrators: Jared Lee, former Superintendent, Dana Ellis, former Principal and Matthew Counts, Former Vice-Principal for the offense of FAILURE TO MAKE A REQUIRED CHILD ABUSE REPORT. 

The Grand Jury also handed down indictments on four Midland Trinity School Administrators: Adrianne Glifton, Chrystal Meyers, Shelby Hammer and Todd Freese, for the offense of FAILURE TO MAKE A REQUIRED CHILD ABUSE REPORT. 

Midland law enforcement indicated that all seven administrators were re-arrested following the indictments.

Odessa Fire Rescue Station 6 Ribbon Cutting Ceremony-DRB Media Communications Digital News

Odessa, Texas/November 10, 2022-Odessa Fire Rescue along with the City of Odessa, and the Lee Family, held a ribbon cutting ceremony at the new Fire Station 6 located at 2110 Penbrook in North Odessa. This station will have a much quicker response to East and West directions on 42nd Street as well as on Grandview.

Fire Station 6 will have 5 bays and the classroom will be able to convert to an Emergency Operations Center. Odessa Fire Rescue has incorporated the cancer initiative with exhaust fans and system placed in the truck room.

Fire Station 6 will also serve as a satellite office for the Odessa Police Department.

Black Chamber of Commerce of the Permian Basin 32nd Annual Ebony Bar Awards-DRB Media Communications Digital News

Odessa, Texas/November 8, 2022-The Black Chamber of Commerce of the Permian Basin held their 32nd Annual Ebony Bar Awards at the MCM Grande Hotel and Fundome. This year, Southside Clergy were recognized for their contributions to the spiritual growth of church members in the southside community.

The Black Chamber of Commerce of the Permian Basin Ebony Bar Awards featured guest speaker, Miller Bargeron, Jr. From Savanah, Georgia. Mr. Bargeron is a filmmaker, Mindset Intergration Specialist, Motivational Speaker and Author. His current film “Stubborn as a Mule” is an award-winning documentary available on YouTube. Earlier this year he began production on Odessa’s own internationally known doo wop group “The Velvets” documentary.

Odessa Police Department Seeking Information On The Whereabouts Of Zechariah Landa-DRB Media Communications Digital News

Odessa, Texas/November 6, 2022-Odessa Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing child. Zechariah Landa, 13 years of age, was last seen on November 4, 2022 at approximately 6pm at Music City Mall. Landa was last seen wearing a white shirt and khaki uniform from the Alternative Center. Landa is possibly with a Hispanic male who is described as being approximately 40-50 years of age, approximately 6’2” tall, weighing approximately 250 pounds, and has short hair and a long beard, wearing a button-down shirt, black jeans, and cowboy boots.
