Odessa, Texas/September 7, 2023-La Margarita Mexican Food Restaurant hosted the 5th Annual First Responder Breakfast at La Margarita Fair Grounds in the southside of Odessa next to St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Odessa Police Department, Odessa Fire Rescue, Ector County Sheriff’s Office, The Ector County DA’s Office, Texas Department of Public Safety and other local law enforcement agencies enjoyed breakfast and fellowship.

During the 86th Texas Legislative Session, lawmakers passed House Bill 1090, Which changes the definition of a first responder to include an emergency responder, operator or emergency services dispatcher, who provides communication support services.
