TROOPER KEVIN RAMIREZ-VASQUEZ TRIBUTE CEREMONY

Midland, Texas/October 3, 2024-On Tuesday, October 1st, a special ceremony was held at the Midland Army Airfield Museum Hanger located near Midland International Air & Space Port. Jose Sanchez, Regional Director of the Texas Department Public Safety, West Texas Region presented remarks to officers with the Texas Department of Public Safety and other Law Enforcement Officers, in honor of Trooper Kevin Ramirez-Vasquez.

Law Enforcements agencies included from the Odessa Police Department, Ector County Sheriff’s Office, Ector County ISD Police, UTPB Police, U.S. Border Patrol Midland Police Department, Midland County Sheriff’s Office, as well as law enforcement agencies from Lubbock attended the tribute ceremony.

Trooper Kevin Ramirez-Vasquez passed away from injuries he sustained during a crash on Highway 302 in Ector County. Trooper Ramirez-Vasques was investigating a car crash along with an Ector County Sheriff’s Deputy.

6th Annual First Responder Breakfast Hosted By La Margarita Mexican Food Restaurant

Odessa, Texas/September 5, 2024-La Margarita Mexican Food Restaurant hosted the 6th Annual First Responder Breakfast. The Odessa Police Department, Ector County Sheriff’s Office, Odessa Fire Rescue and the Texas Department of Public Safety West Texas Region along with the Ector County DA’s Office enjoyed a Mexican Style breakfast that included: scrambled eggs, papas, sausage and bacon and spicy Chile Verde.

Odessa City Council members, Mark Matta, Denise Swanner and Steve Thompson along with Mayor Javier Joven came to the special breakfast to personally thank Trina Morales owner of La Margarita Mexican Food Restaurant for her unwavering support of Odessa’s First Responders.

DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS(013022A)-FATAL CRASH INVOLVING A LOVING COUNTY DEPUTY

Midland, Texas/January 30, 2022-A fatal crash occurred on State Highway 302, 1 mile west of Mentone involving a Loving County Deputy. 

Preliminary information revealed that a Loving County female Deputy Lorin M. Readmond, 41 years-of-age was dispatched to assist another Deputy on a traffic stop. Deputy Readmond was eastbound on SH 302 with her emergency lights and siren activated.  

Her patrol vehicle, a 2018 Ford F-150 was involved in a collision with a 2017 International truck tractor with trailer, also traveling eastbound. 

Deputy Lorin M. Redmond was pronounced deceased at the scene by Justice of the Peace Amber King. 

The driver of the 2017 Internation truck trailer, Daniel Egidio Moran, a 62-year old male of San Antonio, Texas and Edgardo Cervantes a 52 year- old male of El Paso, Texas, were not injured. 

The crash is being investigated by the Texas Highway Patrol’s West Texas Region District Crash Team.
