Ajuua’s Mexican Restaurant Brings a Christmas Lunch to Odessa Fire Rescue, Odessa Police Department

Odessa, Texas/December 21, 2022-The Chief Executive Officer of Ajuuas Mexican Restaurant along with officials with Odessa Fire Rescue provide a Christmas lunch for Odessa Firefighter and Odessa Police Department.

Odessa is unique, in that, businesses and residents support Odessa Fire Rescue, Public Communications and the Odessa Police Department, Ector County Sheriff’s Office, and other first responders.

Approximately 150 Odessa Firefighters enjoyed red or green cheese enchiladas with rice and beans and cookies. Officers with the Odessa Police Department were able to stop by the Odessa Central Fire Station and pick up “to go” boxes.

Odessa Fire Rescue Station 6 Ribbon Cutting Ceremony-DRB Media Communications Digital News

Odessa, Texas/November 10, 2022-Odessa Fire Rescue along with the City of Odessa, and the Lee Family, held a ribbon cutting ceremony at the new Fire Station 6 located at 2110 Penbrook in North Odessa. This station will have a much quicker response to East and West directions on 42nd Street as well as on Grandview.

Fire Station 6 will have 5 bays and the classroom will be able to convert to an Emergency Operations Center. Odessa Fire Rescue has incorporated the cancer initiative with exhaust fans and system placed in the truck room.

Fire Station 6 will also serve as a satellite office for the Odessa Police Department.

Odessa, Texas/October 31, 2022-Odessa Fire Rescue and the Odessa Police Department held their annual Trunk or Treat event at the Centeral Fire Station. Mom and Dad’s brought their little ones to get candy from fire fighters and OPD Officers.

Odessa City Council-Classification & Compensation Study Update From Evergreen Solutions LLC-DRB Media Communications Digital News

Odessa, Texas/October 12, 2022-During the regular scheduled meeting of the Odessa City Council, the council heard a project update by Evergreen Solutions LLC regarding the public safety classification and compensation study. The Odessa City Council had voted in an earlier City Council meeting to hire a consultant to do a compensation study. The Study includes the Odessa Police Department, and Public Safety Communications, but focuses on Odessa Fire Rescue.

The Odessa Fire Department has lost around 32 firefighters within this year to higher paying oil and gas jobs.

Odessa Fire Rescue Station Nine Ribbon Cutting Ceremony-DRB Media Communications Digital News

Odessa, Texas/September 19, 2022-Odessa Fire Rescue celebrated the opening of Odessa Fire Station 9 located in the Lawndale area of Northeast Odessa. The ultra-modernized fire station has state-of-the-art amenities and contains rooms for first responders to store their gear to protect firefighters from cancer causing carcinogens that are present during fire responses.

The land for the construction of the new fire station was provided by the Hurt Family and funding was through a Certificate of Obligation approved by the City of Odessa.

Odessa Fire Rescue has an onsite Medical Director that monitors and makes sure that first responders are providing cutting edge medical care to patients that are having heart attacks, strokes and/or trauma.

1 percent of a building construction costs goes towards some type of art. 70 artists from around the U.S. applied for a commission to create a stain glass windo that represents Odessa Fire Rescue and the Odessa Community. Two stained glass windows were created for Fire Station 9.

Odessa, Texas/July 31, 2022-The Odessa Police Department and 0dessa Fire Rescue held a Back-to-School Block Party at the Southside Baseball field next to the Margarita Fair Grounds. The event featured games, jumpers and give-a-ways.

Odessa First Responder Agencies have block parties in the Spring and Summer to entertain children and families by showing off various assault vehicles and hardware used in fighting crime, fighting fires and saving lives. These events help bring local law enforcement agencies and First Responders, and the community together in a positive environment.
