Ector County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Murder of 20 Year Old

Odessa, Texas/Ector County/December 20, 2022-On December 19th at approximately 5:47PM Ector County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the13000 block of Firewater Trail in reference to a gunshot victim. A 20-year-old male later identified as Jeramiah Nathaniel Padilla was transported to Medical Center Hospital with gunshot wounds and later died from his injuries.

At approximately the same time Odessa Police Department responded to Odessa Regional Medical Center ER reference a 16-year-old gunshot victim.

DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS(051722)-ODESSA POLICE INVESTIGATING MURDER OF A FEMALE

Odessa, Texas/May 17, 2022-During the evening hours of Monday, May 16th Odessa Police and Odessa Fire Rescue responded to a call of a deceased person at the Parkway Inn Motel located at 3731 East Highway 80. The investigation revealed that a female had been stabbed multiple times and was unresponsive. Investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division began investigating the death of the adult female.

An arrest warrant was issued for Jose Sarinana, 46, for the offense of Murder- First Degree Felony. He has been placed into custody and was transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.

The victim has been identified as Cynthia Ann Mendoza, 46 years of age, from Lamesa, TX.

DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS(122821)-MCSO ARREST WANTED FUGITIVE GABRIEL RODRIGUEZ, JR

Midland, Texas/December 28, 2021- On December 26, the Midland County Sheriff’s Office and the United States Marshal’s Service received information that wanted fugitive Gabriel Rodriguez, Jr. was wanted out of Eddy County, New Mexico for Aggravated Robbery and the Murder of Eduardo Otero, Jr. Rodriguez was believed to be in the Midland area.

On December 27, wanted fugitive, Gabriel Rodriguez, Jr., was located and arrested in the 600 block of East County Road 129 in Midland County.

Rodriguez was taken into custody without incident and placed in the Midland County Jail.

DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS(120521A)-ODESSA PD INVESTIGATE DEADLY SHOOTING-ONE TEEN DEAD

Odessa, Texas/December 5, 2021-Odessa Police made an arrest in connection with an early morning shooting that left one teen dead.

On Saturday morning, December 4th at approximately 12:58 am, Officers with the Odessa Police Department responded to a call of a gunshot victim at Medical Center Hospital. Jaziah Marruffo, 19 years of age, succumbed to his injuries as result of a gunshot wound.

During the investigation it was determined that Marruffo was riding with several teens inside a vehicle, when one of the juveniles inside the vehicle possessing a handgun, shot him. A subsequent investigation identified the vehicle and teens involved.

A 16 year old male was charged with Murder, and tampering with physical evidence. A second juvenile has been charged with tampering with physical evidence and two counts of possession of stolen property, that property being two handguns. Both were transported to the Ector County Youth Center.

Next of kin has been notified.

DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS(110121A)-OPD INVESTIGATING HOMICIDE 2 SUSPECTS ARRESTED-UPDATE

Odessa, Texas/November 1, 2021-Two suspects have been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the shooting that occurred on Sunday morning, October 31^st, at approximately 1:32 am.

Officers with the Odessa Police Department responded to a shots fired call in the parking lot of 4555 East University Blvd. The investigation revealed that the victim, 53-year-old Jesse Sanchez was a patron at the Agave Bar. Sanchez had exited the bar and walked to his vehicle when multiple shots were fired at him.

Jesse Sanchez was transported to Medical Center Hospital where he pronounced deceased.

The suspects then exited the parking lot and was pursued by Odessa Police with the assistance of the Ector County Sheriff’s Office. The pursuit ended in the area of West Cananero Court. The suspects were taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit.

The two suspects Martin Monge Hernandez, 19-years-of-age was charged with Murder, Felony, 1^st Degree and Evading Arrest or Detention with a Vehicle, Felony, 3^rd Degree.

Cristian Escarcega, 24-years-of-age was charged with Murder, Felony 1^st Degree, and Evading Arrest or Detention, Class A misdemeanor.
