Odessa, Texas/December 18, 2021-On December 3, 2021 at approximately 9:12 am, a theft occurred at Lowe’s Home Improvement located at 4101 East 42nd Street. Investigation revealed that a male subject concealed over $600 worth of merchandise and left without making any attempt to pay. Anyone who recognizes this suspect is encouraged to contact Cpl. J. Santa Claus visited sixty-eight 3 and 4 year-olds at the Pre-K Academy classrooms at Midland College. Students dressed up in their PJ’s for the special visit.

Children asked for a wide variety of Christmas presents from the traditional to non-traditional.

DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS(120521A)-ODESSA PD INVESTIGATE DEADLY SHOOTING-ONE TEEN DEAD

Odessa, Texas/December 5, 2021-Odessa Police made an arrest in connection with an early morning shooting that left one teen dead.

On Saturday morning, December 4th at approximately 12:58 am, Officers with the Odessa Police Department responded to a call of a gunshot victim at Medical Center Hospital. Jaziah Marruffo, 19 years of age, succumbed to his injuries as result of a gunshot wound.

During the investigation it was determined that Marruffo was riding with several teens inside a vehicle, when one of the juveniles inside the vehicle possessing a handgun, shot him. A subsequent investigation identified the vehicle and teens involved.

A 16 year old male was charged with Murder, and tampering with physical evidence. A second juvenile has been charged with tampering with physical evidence and two counts of possession of stolen property, that property being two handguns. Both were transported to the Ector County Youth Center.

Next of kin has been notified.

Midland, Texas/December 5, 2021-The Midland County Sheriff’s Office kicked off the sheriff’s office toy drive at the Midland County Annex Building at 2110 North A Street. Dollar General placed barrels at Midland County locations throughout the city. Residents can drop off an unwrapped toys for either boy or girl.

The goal is to give every child a toy that attends the Midland County Sheriff’s Office Christmas event at the Midland County Horseshoe Arena and Pavilion on Saturday evening, December 18th.
